Rep. Barr speaks on the House floor about the Veterans Benefits Fairness and Transparency Act (VBFTA) passing the U.S. House of Representatives. This legislation protects veterans by requiring the VA to restore public access to Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) Forms, used to submit medical evidence in justification of a veteran’s disability claim. The VBFTA also requires the VA to accept DBQ forms submitted one year after submission, regardless if the VA updates or changes their DBQ forms. The idea for this bill came from a veteran on the Sixth District Veterans Coalition.
