  • Project name: Lawrenceburg Water System Improvement Project
  • Proposed recipient: City of Lawrenceburg
  • Address of the recipient:  100 North Main Street, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky
  • Amount of the request: $ 2,000,000
  • Explanation: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it would be used to construct a new 1,000,000 gallon elevated water storage tank, water treatment plant high service pump improvements, approximately 1,000 feet of 12-inch water line and an emergency connection to South Anderson Water District.

  • Explanation: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it would be used to correct horizontal and width deficiencies on KY 36 from 10005 West Highway 36, Sharpsburg, KY (38.2025891°, -83.8942748°) to the intersection of KY 36 and KY 11 (38.2069114°, -83.9221911°W), spanning approximately 8,135.90 feet, which will improve the safety and operational efficiency of the roadway.

  • Proposed recipient: Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC)
  • Address of the recipient:  500 Newtown Pike, Lexington, Kentucky, 40508
  • Amount of the request: $ 1,570,102.23
  • Explanation: The funding would be used to outfit the BCTC Winchester Campus with state-of-the-art equipment and technology for both Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) and Biotech programs, to bring on board additional faculty and staff to ramp-up these degree programs, and to provide additional needs-based support for students who may require additional academic resources.

  • Project name: God’s Pantry: Capacity Expansion – Improved Access to Nutrition
  • Proposed recipient: Lexington Fayette Urban County Government
  • Address of the recipient:  200 East Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky 40507.

  • Explanation: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it would be used to address the lack of adequate capacity at God’s pantry Food Bank, Inc. by funding an additional freezer, cooler, conditioned storage, to increase food handling capacity.

  • Explanation: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it would be used be used for the final phase of the Newtown Pike Extension (NPE) project in Lexington, Kentucky and allow completion of the design and partial completion of the right-of-way acquisition phases.

  • Explanation: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it would be used to acquire and develop 91 acres of industrial land in an opportunity zone on the south side of Nicholasville. This development will expand the existing Jenette Industrial Park.

  • Explanation: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it will improve heart care in the Berea community by purchasing a cardiac-focused nuclear medicine camera,
  • advanced technology that will provide patients with high-quality cardiac images while keeping radiation as low as practical, leading to appropriate medical interventions and treatment at CHI St. Joseph’s hospital.

  • Explanation: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because would be used renovate space to add therapists and psychiatric nurse practitioners to expand access to behavioral health and substance use disorder services at Baptist Health Richmond.

  • Explanation: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it would be used to make improvements to the Montgomery County Sanitation District’s sewer collection system and wastewater treatment plant to eliminate/reduce sanitary sewer overflows, reduce inflow and infiltration, and rehabilitate the wastewater treatment plant.

  • Explanation: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it would be used to replace two existing elevated water storage tanks as well as replacement of waterlines throughout the Nicholas County Water District system.

  • Explanation: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it would be used to eliminate two, privately-owned, package WWTPs that have, for the last 30 years, failed to adequately treat wastewater from 375 units within two mobile home parks.

  • Project name: Scott County: Great Crossings Dam- Low Head Dam Mitigation
  • Proposed recipient: Scott County Fiscal Court
  • Address of the recipient:  PO Box 973, 101 E Main Street Georgetown, Kentucky 40324
  • Amount of the request: $ 2,400,000
  • Explanation: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it will greatly increase the safety of the Great Crossing Dam, Great Crossing Park, and Elkhorn Creek for citizens of Georgetown Scott County and the region; the area is very popular for recreation and fishing but currently poses a huge drowning threat.

  • Project name: Big Spring Park Placemaking Improvements
  • Proposed recipient: City of Versailles
  • Address of the recipient:  196 South Main Street, Versailles, Kentucky 40383
  • Amount of the request: $ 1,070,000
  • Explanation: The project would be used to complete a portion of the complete upgrade of Big Spring Park, including new and accessible playground equipment, improved pavilions for gathering spaces, new field for community sports, improved walking trails and changes to the waterway to reduce flooding and improve the experience of park patrons in Versailles.
