Washington, D.C. - Representative Andy Barr (KY-06) today released his comprehensive plan for leading the House Financial Services Committee, outlining a vision centered on restoring the American Dream through free-market capitalism.
In his proposal "Raising the Barr on Financial Services," Rep. Barr presents a clear message: "Free market capitalism is 'America First." His plan emphasizes that when markets thrive and entrepreneurs have access to capital, America maintains its global economic leadership.
The centerpiece of Barr's agenda is the American Dream Act, which he plans to advance in the first 100 days. This landmark legislation will focus on unleashing the full potential of America's financial system by:
- Rolling back burdensome financial regulations
- Fostering innovation in fintech and digital assets
- Reforming the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
- Implementing market-based solutions for housing finance and affordability
As current Chairman of the Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy Subcommittee and a proven leader on the House Financial Service Committee, Barr has demonstrated leadership on critical issues including oversight of ESG investing, China investment screening, and banking sector resilience.
"It is time for the Financial Services Committee to go on offense and pursue legislation that will unlock our capital markets, roll back bureaucratic overreach, and supercharge American competitiveness," stated Barr.
