Carlisle, KY – On Monday, Congressman Andy Barr (KY-06) announced $1,769,000 in federal funding to Nicholas County Fiscal Court to construct a new Emergency Medical Services (EMS) facility in Carlisle. Barr secured this funding in the Fiscal Year 2024 Community Project Funding Process. The current EMS facility was badly damaged in a 2021 flood.
“The men and women of the Nicholas County Emergency Medical Services Department do extraordinary work serving and protecting the community,” said Congressman Barr. “This state-of-the-art facility will allow the county to recruit and retain talented EMS employees and help further their mission to make Nicholas County safer. I am proud to return Nicholas Countians’ hard-earned tax dollars back to their community.”
“Together, with Congressman Barr and his fine staff, the Bluegrass ADD, and the fiscal court, this vision has become a reality. Perseverance and positive working relationships are paramount! On behalf of the county, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Congressman Barr. He is indeed a friend to our community,” said Nicholas County Judge-Executive Steve Hamilton.
