WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Andy Barr issued the following statement commemorating the anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001:
"Today across our great nation, we pause to reflect upon the morning thirteen years ago that changed our lives. We remember the thousands of men and women who lost their lives in New York City, Washington, D.C. and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Today, and every day, Carol and I join the families and all who mourn the loss of loved ones, and we honor the brave first responders who rushed into the burning Twin Towers, risking their own lives so that others might live. Our thoughts and prayers remain with our brave men and women in uniform who continue to sacrifice for our freedom, safety and security."
