Georgetown, KY - Today, U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (KY-06) announced $1,750,000 in federal funding from the Fiscal Year 2024 Community Project Funding process to Scott County Fiscal Court. This funding is one step in a large, long-term project to improve the sanitary sewer capacity in Northern Scott County. Specifically, these funds will be used for pre-construction costs related to sewer improvements in Northern Scott County including but not limited to: planning, survey, design, and permitting.
"This investment marks a significant step forward for the sanitary sewer systems along the US 25 corridor from Georgetown to Sadieville and lays the groundwork for a comprehensive master sewer plan for the Northwest Bypass in Georgetown and Scott County," said Congressman Barr. "I am thankful for the community's strong support for this project, which ensures that Scott County's hard-earned tax dollars are reinvested directly back into their own community."
"The Scott County Fiscal Court is thankful for the grant that will provide the funds for the first steps to design a solution to the sewer capacity concerns along the North US 25 corridor in Scott County," said Scott County Judge Executive Joe Pat Covington. Barr stays connected and works to address critical infrastructure needs in the 6th Congressional District."
