Washington, D.C.—Today, U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY-06) voted for the Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026.

“Kentuckians sent me to Washington to rein in Biden-era spending, put America First, and deliver real results for our communities,” said Congressman Barr. “This funding package rolls back wasteful Washington spending while making targeted investments that strengthen public safety, modernize critical water and sewer infrastructure, and support American manufacturing and innovation right here in Central Kentucky. I will always fight to be a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars while bringing home key federal resources that help our communities grow, create jobs, and build a stronger future.”

The grants that will be funded through this package for the Sixth District include:

  • $2M to the University of Kentucky Graphite Manufacturing and Characterization Program
  • $96,192 to the City of Harrodsburg for Police Equipment and Technology Updates
  • $1M to Nicholas County for their Water Improvements Project
  • $1M to Clark County for Sanitary Sewer Improvements
  • $1M to Winchester Municipal Utilities for their Sanitary Sewer Project
  • $1M to the City of Lancaster for Sanitary Sewer Extension Project
  • $750,000 to Bourbon County for the Water Tank Project
