Lexington, KY—Today, U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY-06) announced that McKinzii Todd Poe has been promoted to District Director. For almost four years, McKinzii served as the Deputy District Director under the leadership of the late Tatum Dale, who passed away on Christmas Eve of last year.
“McKinzii has been a steady, trusted presence in our district operation for years,” said Congressman Barr. “She learned directly from Tatum Dale and helped carry forward the standard of service and care that Tatum set for this office. I am confident that McKinzii will continue that legacy with integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the people of the Sixth District.”
“I am humbled by the opportunity Congressman Barr has given me and by the trust he has placed in me to continue leading our district office,” said Poe. “I have been fortunate to work for Congressman Barr for many years, and the reputation our office has earned is a direct reflection of the high expectations he sets and the standard of service he holds us to every day. I thank God for the opportunity to have learned from and worked alongside my dear friend, Tatum Dale, and I thank God for the hope that through Him we will see her again. I am committed to carrying forward that same dedication to serving the constituents of the Sixth District and the entire Commonwealth.”
Poe will now serve as the Congressman’s top aide in Kentucky, managing district staff, overseeing constituent services, and continuing the office’s outreach efforts across Central Kentucky. Poe began working for Congressman Barr during his 2018 campaign and joined the official congressional staff later that year. Since then, she has served in several roles within the district office, including Caseworker, Director of Economic Development, and Deputy District Director since 2022. In addition to her work in public service, Poe is an active member of the community and serves on the Board of Directors for Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky.
A native of Rockcastle County, Poe is a proud graduate of Rockcastle County High School. She later moved to Madison County to attend Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration and a Master of Public Administration. She currently resides in Madison County with her husband, Phillip, their son, Tripp, and their two dogs, Fitz and Remy.
