LEXINGTON - The Office of Congressman Andy Barr has announced that it is seeking high school juniors and seniors to apply for the new Sixth Congressional District Youth Ambassador Program.

“I am excited to announce the creation of the non-partisan Sixth Congressional District Youth Ambassador Program for high school students,” said Congressman Barr. “This educational experience will provide students from central and eastern Kentucky the unique opportunity to learn from leaders from across the Commonwealth while serving as an ambassador for their school.”

The program will consist of participation and discussions from some of Kentucky’s top leaders in the areas of government, education, military, business and Congress.  The inaugural meeting will be held on October 11, with a second meeting on December 13, and other potential meetings to be announced at a later date. Each meeting will include a program consisting of a dynamic panel discussion on leadership and the opportunity to engage with panel members in individual breakout sessions, as well as information the Youth Ambassadors can share with their classmates.

The application and additional information is available at http://barr.house.gov/services/youth-ambassador-program. Applications are due September 19, 2014.
