Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY) received the Spirit of Enterprise Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for his support of small business priorities including regulatory reform and the recently enacted Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Each year, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce establishes pro-growth policies important to businesses and rates Members of Congress who support these priorities.

“I was honored to receive the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Spirit of Enterprise Award,” said Congressman Andy Barr. “My colleagues and I are working together to support policies to stimulate economic growth and support small businesses that are the cornerstone of our communities. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was the most significant rewrite of the tax code in over 31 years and has benefitted millions of Americans by lowering tax rates, doubling the standard deduction, and creating a simpler and fairer tax code. I look forward to continue working on these initiatives to ensure small businesses throughout the Sixth District are afforded greater opportunities to create jobs in the Commonwealth.”

President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Thomas Donohue said “It’s a good time to be doing business in America, thanks to a slate of legislative accomplishments that laid the groundwork for more economic growth and job creation. These efforts to advance commonsense, growth-oriented legislation will help Main Street American businesses thrive. We commend Congressman Andy Barr for his commitment to promoting and protecting American free enterprise and economic prosperity.”
