WASHINGTON - Congressman Andy Barr released the following statement regarding today's Shaping Our Appalachian Future (SOAR) Summit:
"I applaud Congressman Hal Rogers and Governor Steve Beshear for spearheading this initiative. The response today demonstrates the overwhelming interest in finding new opportunities to build community and economic success in the Appalachian region. The breakout committees have come up with many great ideas, and our challenge is to sustain and build upon this activity. Moving forward, I will continue today's conversation in the Eastern counties in the Sixth District, and continue this initiative's efforts to bring people together to drive regional success."
