Barr Announces Winners of 2016 Art Competition
Congressman Andy Barr (KY-06) announced the winners of the 2016 Congressional Art Competition. Samuel Jolly of Nicholas County High School was the overall winner for his piece, “Where My Story Begins.” Jolly’s work will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol building for one year along with winners from each Congressional district.
The winner of the “Constituent’s Choice” award was Andrew Cottle from Bryan Station High School in Lexington. Cottle’s work, “Day in the Park,” received more Facebook “likes” than any submission on Congressman Barr’s official Facebook page other than the overall winner. His work will be displayed for the next year in Congressman Barr’s Washington, D.C. office.
Myles Garr of Bryan Station High School in Lexington was selected by Congressman Barr’s staff for the “Staff Choice” award for his work, “Kentucky Proud.”
