Service Academy Nominations
Thank you for your interest in the U.S. Service Academies. As your Sixth District Representative in the U.S. House of Representatives, each year I have the privilege of nominating a limited number of people to four of the five service academies. The honor of attending a service academy comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. For more information, please review my page of Frequently Asked Questions for those seeking a Military Academy Nomination. Best wishes to you as you pursue your goal of attending one of the U.S. Service Academies and serving our country.
This year’s annual Academy Day will be on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky, 4029 Airport Rd, Lexington, KY 40510 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Registration will be from 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM followed by the official program from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. Congressman Barr will address his role in the Service Academy Nomination process. Following the main program from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, representatives from all of the programs present will have booths set up to answer questions and hand out literature. My staff will also be present to answer any questions regarding the Service Academy Nomination process and they will have Nomination Applications for the fall of 2018 available at the registration table.
