Congressional Update from U.S. Congressman Andy Barr

The Carol Act is Headed to the President's Desk

Monday, the House unanimously passed the CAROL Act, sending the bill to President Biden’s desk. Thousands of Americans, predominantly young women, lose their lives to mitral valve prolapse and other valvular heart diseases each year.

The CAROL Act invests in the innovative research that is necessary to put high risk patients on a path to living long and healthy lives.  I can’t think of a better way to honor Carol Barr, whose selflessness and service to her community and country will be furthered through the law that will bear her name. I greatly appreciate my colleagues and advocacy groups who supported our efforts. See my full remarks below.

On Sunday, I joined Mario Anderson on “In Focus” to discuss the Republican Majority’s Commitment to America Agenda that we will focus on advancing out of the House next year.  We will implement policies to reduce inflation by unleashing American energy producers to lower costs, stop the overspending in Washington, and bring home essential supply chains from overseas to create good paying American jobs.

Congressional Record Presentation

Montgomery County Judge Executive Wally Johnson and Fleming County Judge Executive Larry Foxworthy are dedicated public servants and it was an honor to present Congressional Records to commemorate their service. It has been a privilege to work alongside them to serve our constituents and I wish them both the very best in their retirement.

Upcoming Financial Services Committee FTX Hearing

Next week, The House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing on FTX where we plan to get to the bottom of the events that led to the fall of FTX and their scam on American retail investors. The Wall Street Journal reports that there will be up to 1 million creditors as a result of the fall of FTX. The American people deserve answers, and I joined Jesse Watters to discuss the upcoming hearing. See my full interview below.
