On Monday, September 9, Congressman Andy Barr helped introduce H.R. 3067, the No Obamacare Subsidies for Members of Congress Act of 2013, legislation authored by Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito (WV) that would prevent Members of Congress from receiving a roughly 75 percent subsidy for the purchase of a health insurance policy on the healthcare exchanges created under the Affordable Care Act.
Congressman Brett Guthrie and Congressman Andy Barr announced today that the House Committee on Education & the Workforce Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions Chairman Phil Roe (TN) will hold a field hearing entitled, “Health Care Challenges Facing Kentucky’s Workers and Job Creators” in Lexington on Tuesday, August 27 at 10:00 AM. The hearing will take place at the Farish Theater in the central branch of the Lexington Public Library, located at 140 East Main Street in Lexington, Kentucky.
Today, I voted to delay Obamacare’s implementation, saving jobs and protect hardworking American families from the individual mandate. Unlike the President, we know it’s not fair to give businesses and labor unions relief from Obamacare’s job-crushing provisions and leave families to deal with the disastrous consequences.
