President Biden Issues First Veto on my ESG Bill

On Monday, President Biden vetoed my legislation which passed with bipartisan, bicameral support. This legislation would have blocked the U.S. Department of Labor’s rule greenlighting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investing in employer-sponsored retirement plans. I joined Fox and Friends to discuss the importance of this legislation. Senator Mike Braun and I wrote an op-ed in the Washington Examiner discussing the President’s veto that can be read here.

Commerce Lexington Public Policy Luncheon

I was honored to be the Keynote Speaker at Commerce Lexington’s annual Public Policy Luncheon where I had the opportunity to provide an update on my efforts to combat inflation and the threat of the Chinese Communist Party. I also discussed the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and my role as Chairman of the Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy Subcommittee to conduct vigorous oversight of the FDIC, Federal Reserve, and financial institutions.

A Day in Woodford County  

Last Tuesday, I spent the day in Woodford County where I met with high school social students and discussed my office’s role in representing the constituents of Kentucky’s 6^th Congressional District. I also enjoyed meeting with Woodford County Judge Executive James Kay to discuss the county’s priorities and taking a tour of the Bluegrass Community Hospital.
