Protecting and Restoring the Strategic Petroleum Reserve

In just over two years, President Biden depleted the Strategic Petroleum Reserve by almost 40%. To protect and restore our emergency energy supply, I voted for legislation requiring the Administration to submit a plan to Congress on how they will replace supply should they drawdown the SPR any further.

I also offered an amendment blocking financial regulations that limit financing for energy businesses from being imposed until the SPR is fully replenished.  You can watch my full remarks on the House floor here or by clicking the image above. 

Meeting with Local Elected Officials

Over the coming months, I’ll be meeting with elected officials throughout the Sixth District to discuss ways we can partner together to best serve the Kentuckians we all represent.  So far, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with:

Serving on the House Select Committee on China

This week, I was appointed by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to serve on the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).  I previewed my priorities on the Select Committee to Politico China reporter which you can see above. 

Earlier this month, I voted alongside an overwhelming bipartisan group of House members in to establish the Select Committee to develop concrete solutions to better position the U.S. to confront the military, economic, political, and technological threat the CCP poses to our country.  You can watch my full speech on the House floor on the creation of the Select Committee here. 

Sixth District Veterans Coalition

On Monday, I held an event with members of the Kentucky Sixth District Veterans Coalition group. I discussed the implementation of the PACT Act, my vote to end the military vaccine mandate, and key wins for our vets in the recent NDAA. I am looking forward to fighting for our vets in the 118th Congress.
